On April 11, 2025, the Robbe Mayall Ski Education Foundation hosted its annual Robbe Memorial Run—a day filled with sunshine, laughter, reflection, and the deep bonds that connect our ski community.
This year’s event was made even more special with a heartfelt speech delivered by Hallie Yurick, AYC Lead Coach, who captured the spirit of Robbe and the lasting impact he continues to have on all of us:
“Robbe was a man who adapted to meet the person in front of him. He could be a dear friend, a party date, a river guide, a woodworker, firefighter, musician, Jimmy Buffett superfan, or drinking buddy. Please share one thing that Robbe was to you—out loud or in your heart.
In the last few months of his life, he dedicated his time to creating the ski education foundation for those wanting to make a career from sharing their passion for skiing. His mother also made it her goal and devoted herself to this foundation.
So while Robbe will not be teaching us how to ski down Extrovert on a 70° spring day or mentor us on how to teach someone else, he is with us as we make our turns. Robbe, Bob Grant, and Chris Mariani are always with us when we walk into the locker room with a smile for someone new and when we offer a helping hand. Go ski like Robbe. And ski this one for John E.”
Throughout the day, we celebrated Robbe’s memory with friends old and new, sharing stories, skiing our hearts out, and carrying forward his spirit of joy, mentorship, and adventure.
